Pre-Season Skills Baseball Clinic - Farm Div (Entering grade 1 or 2 in September of 2019)

Pre-Season Skills Clinic (Entering grade 1 or 2 in September of 2019) – These 90 minute sessions will focus on the fundamentals - hitting, catching, and working on "form".  This will be a great opportunity to both improve existing skills and become more confident in areas that might need work. 

Sessions will be held in the gym at Pine Grove School on Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:00pm.

Clinic starts Thursday, 3/5 and ends Thursday, 4/9.  (4/16 reserved for make-up day).

Players should wear sneakers - cleats are not allowed inside the gym.

Please - NO REAL BASEBALLS - if you have baseballs in your equipment bag please remove them prior to attending the clinic.

This program is for players that are eligible for Single A or Double A this spring season 2020.

SINGLE A 2020 (Entering grade 1 in September of 2019)

SINGLE A (Entering grade 1 in September of 2019 or 6 years old by January 1, 2020) – SINGLE A is a coach-pitched level of play for beginning players in first or second grade.  Basic skills such as throwing, catching and batting stance are taught.  Coaches will start introducing the "rules" of the game and there is a more structured level of play with strikes, outs, etc.  We have a modified travel schedule at this level and scores are not recorded.  An emphasis on having fun learning the game of baseball is promoted at this level.  

The pitcher’s mound is 40 feet from home plate and the base paths are at 60 feet.  Friend requests are considered at this level of play but we will not guarantee all requests will be met.

TEE BALL 2020 (Entering PreK & K in September of 2019)

TEEBALL (Entering Pre K & K in September of 2019) –  Minimum age requirement is player must turn 4 prior to January 1, 2020

TEEBALL is the introductory level of play in baseball.  Coaches work with players to develop basic throwing, catching, and hitting skills.  The goal is to have fun so the children enjoy the introduction to baseball with their family and friends.  Tee Ball meets twice per week (on a weeknight) for a combined 1/2 hour practice and 1/2 hour game at coaches discretion. Games are played M-F from 6:00-7:00.  Friend requests are accepted at this level of play but we cannot guarantee all requests will be met.

In Grades: Pre-K to K for 2019-20 School year

FARM DIV GIRLS SOFTBALL 2020 (Entering grades 2, 3 & 4 in September of 2019)

Farm Division - Open to girls entering grades 2, 3 & 4 in September of 2019.  The Farm Division is a level of play designed to help players make the challenging transition from coach-pitched games to player-pitched games.  This level has an emphasis on developing pitchers and basic game techniques in the infield.  Players also must develop a comfort level with batting against player pitching.  All second grade players should be prepared to start the season having the ability to throwing and catch a softball with proper technique.

This is a developmental/ instructional league and coaches strive to have players play multiple positions during a season.  At this level, the ball is an 11" inch hard softball.  Pitchers pitch from a 35' foot pitching distance.  Bases are 50' feet apart.  There is no stealing or bunting. A maximum of 4 runs can be scored per inning.
